A researcher in Modern and Contemporary Art >>> Dr. Aloni Yaari studied in the Departments of Psychology (B.A.) and Art History (B.A., M.A.) at the Hebrew University, and completed her doctorate at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. Her doctoral thesis explored representations of hair in the work of women artists from 1970 to 2010. She is interested in questions of gender, the interactions of art with feminism and psychoanalysis, the body in visual culture and critical theory, and artistic embodiments of trauma and memory. In addition to teaching in the department, since 2014 she has been working in the Israel Museum as an Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art.
